Party party!
You people are impatient! :)
I was just about to write about my going away party. But first I was getting our apartment into some kind of order, since it was quite a mess. We still have the extra bed in our living room. It is not supposed to be there, but in our little storage area upstairs. We are lazy people, I must say.
So about the party. I think it was very successful. There was a lot of drinking and eating. People liked my cheese crackers very much. And the punch was very good also. I think one person drank it a little too much, since he passed out on our bed. But what is a party without a person that passes out, I ask you? :) Luckily no one threw up anywhere that they shouldn't have, at least not to my knowledge. But someone peed (is it written that way?) on the floor. But she had an excuse, she's a four month old puppy dog. :)
I think there were about 13 guests, so 15 of us all together. Not too many but not too few either. One brother, one sister, a brother-in-law candidate, two friends from my teacher training, two of my best friends from home, one friend that I met my first year here and five of Jussi's. That's all I think. And I think they had fun. We played games and chatted. I was glad that no one seemed to be left out even though many of them met for the first time. So thank you all for being so great.
What else should I write about the party? Well, some of us continued on to party at a night club called Ruma. We had to wait in line for quite a long time, and when we finally got in it was full of people. I mean, if the police had shown up, half the people would have been thrown out. But anyway, by the time we got in I was very cold and tired, so I didn't have the best night. But the others seemed to have very much fun, so I'm happy for them. We left a little before four and I finally got home to bed. The next day a few of us went to eat at Taco House. Very good food. Oh, and thanks little brother for paying for our food. ;)
So that was it about that. I might as well write about what else is going on. It certainly has been long since I last wrote. I've been a bit busy, and still am. Oh, did you check out my links. The 'Learn English' one is quite funny. ;)
So what's going on in my life? Well... I was supposed to go to Oregon by stopping at Kopenhagen and Atlanta before arriving in Portland. Not anymore. Now I'm stopping at Kopenhagen, Atlanta AND Salt Lake City. What a drag. It adds a couple of hours to my already very long trip. The flight from Atlanta to Portland was apparently cancelled. Well, what can you do?
I have started to stress about my trip now. I have no idea where I am going to stay my first night there. I'm going to arrive in Portland at about ten o'clock in the evening, so I think I'll have to stay in a hotel. Must check what hotels there are near the airport. I'm afraid that I have forgotten to do something very important and that will then ruin my whole trip. I don't know where I will stay the first week in Eugene before I find an apartment. I signed up for a students hosting students program, but still have not heard anything more about that even though I wrote them an email asking for details. I hate that I can't take a water bottle with me on the plane because of the new flight rules. And all the containers that have liquid that I do take, I have to put into a small bag. I shall need about fifty of those zip lock bags.
That's about it for now. Who knows when I'll write next.
